Algonquin

  • 2oz rye whiskey
  • 1½oz dry vermouth
  • 1½oz pineapple juice
  • 4 drops Peychaud's bitters
Shake, strain.


This drink doesn't make a great deal of sense on paper, or in practice for that matter. That's an awful lot of vermouth to be throwing around, and when did pineapple juice and rye get chummy? In its defense, the flavours do blend and combine with one another in an impressive fashion - though that could just be a polite way of saying it doesn't taste like anything.
