Breaking out the shaker for a shot glass worth of liquid seems... excessive. Did it really serve any purpose other than getting my shaker all sticky and green? And really the same question could be asked of the drink - does it serve any purpose other than getting my mouth all sticky and green? Not really, unfortunately. For a fleeting instant you could be fooled into thinking you'd had an After Eight, but then the cloying sweetness of the creme de menthe kicks in, and won't go away, and all you really have is regret.
